The picture shows the house in the town of Solvychegodsk where Stalin lived when he was in exile.

"There is no one and indivisible Russia. Before us there open a picture of struggle between two Russias: bourgeois and proletarian ones. Two great armies entered a scene of struggle: an army of proletarians and an army of bourgeois, and struggle between these two armies involved all our public life" (a fragment from Joseph's article).

"Now we are interested in how a system of ideas (a theory of socialism) is elaborated from separate ideas, how separate ideas unite into one orderly system - a theory of socialism, and who elaborates and unites them. Whether masses of people provide their leaders with programs and explanations of programs or leaders to masses? (a fragment from Joseph's letter).

PAGES OF JOSEPH'S LIFE

In 1907 he published newspapers "Bakinsky proletary" and "Gudok" and struggled at their pages with Mensheviks and socialist revolutionaries, participated in a campaign of 4th State Duma election, was elected a member of Baku Committee of the RSDLP.

In 1908 he was arrested. Being imprisoned, he wrote articles and was in charge of above-mentioned newspapers, was exiled to Vologodskaya province for two years, lived in the town of Solvychegodsk, nearly died of typhus, took to flight.

He continued his revolutionary work in Baku and Tiflis, called the Tiflis party conference, published the newspaper "Tiflisky proletary", wrote "The Letters from Caucasus".

'A proletarian party is not a philosophical school or a religious sect but a party of struggle which leads struggling proletariat.'

'A fighting group of leaders should have many fewer members than class of proletarians has; by its consciousness and experience it should stand higher than class of proletarians and be a solidary organisation' (Class of proletarians and party of proletarians).

'Up till now our party has looked like hospitable patriarchal family which was ready to accept all who sympathied it. But after our party became a centralized organization it refused its patriarchal image and became completely similar to a fortress whose doors were opened only for worthy people'.

In another place our 'the revolutionary priest' says that membership in party is 'the holy of holiness', and in one more place he calls party 'a kind of a sword-bearer in the Soviet state.

In 1910 he became an authorized person of the Central Committee of the Party, wrote a resolution about transferring the central management of party's work to Russia, was arrested and deported under guard to Solvychegodsk, wrote a message to the Central Committee 'From Solvychegodsk Exile'.

'The country lay in chains under the feet of its enslavers. The shooting of laborers in Lensky goldfields broke ice of silence, and the river of national movement began to flow. Every evil and harm of the present political regime and every illness of long-suffering Russia were focused on one fact in events on Lena" (Joseph's article in the newspaper 'Star' concerning the Lensky shooting).

'We, communists, are special people. We are made of special material. We are those who constitute an army of the great proletarian strategist comrade Lenin. Not everyone is able to be a member of such a party. Not everyone is able to endure all hardships and storms connected with membership in such a party. Sons of working class, sons of poverty and struggle, sons of incredible hardships and heroic endeavors - they should be members of such a party first of all".

In 1911 Joseph illegally left Vologodskaya province for Petersburg and there established relations with a local party organization.

Again he was arrested and exiled to Vologda.

In 1912 in his absence he was elected a member of the Central Committee, escaped from his exile, was engaged in revolutionary work in Baku and Tiflis and fulfillment of the Prague conference resolutions, was editor of the newspaper 'Zvyezda' and published the first number of 'Pravda' with the article "Our Goals', was arrested.

'Illuminating the way of Russian working movement with the light of international social democracy, sowing the truth among laborers about friends and enemies of working class - it's for these goals that 'Pravda' will strive (Our Goals).

'Caucasian Bolsheviks jumped on all kinds of daring expropriating undertakings; this is known to comrade Stalin who in his time was excluded from the party organization for his involvement in expropriations' (the witness Martov).

A fragment from a conversation with E. Ludwig,

'In your biography there are occasions of so called 'robbery actions'. Were you interested in the personality of Stepan Razin? What do you think about him as 'a high-principled robber'?

"We, Bolsheviks, have always been interested in such historical personalities as Bolotnikov, Razin and Pugachev and others.

In his article "How social democracy understands ethnic issue' Dzhugashvili, indicating that the Social Democratic party named itself a party of Russia but not a Russian one, explained that by this party meant to demonstrate its own desire to unite under its banner not only Russian proletarians but proletarians of all nationalities. And that it would take all necessary measures to ruin national barriers between them.

"From Kureyka he sent the finished manuscript of his work on ethnic issue. He asked to send that manuscript abroad to Lenin who waited for that work (A. Alliluyeva).

Joseph escaped from his exile, was in charge of the 4th State Duma election campaign, struggled against Mensheviks, edited 'Pravda' and published his articles including 'A Mandate of Petersburg's laborers' for Lenin.

He illegally came to Lenin to Cracow and took part in a meeting of the Central Committee of the RSDLP.

After returning to Petersburg he controlled the work of the Social Democratic fraction in the 4th Duma, wrote a work 'An Ethnic Issue and Social Democrats' and a proclamation 'The Anniversary of Lensky Massacre', was arrested.

In 1913 he was deported to Turukhansky kray, was in correspondence with Lenin, criticized defense strategy of Plekhanov and took part in activity of political exiles.

In 1917 he returned to Petrograd.

THE AG'S WITNESS FOR JOSEPH

"The Holy Russia...

Of course, the nation was not holy. Dreary wildness of medieval executions changed into atheistic dissolute madness of the Renaissance that came from the West. Russia endured oprichnina, bironovshina, Brazen horsemen and Nikolai the Bloody. But Russia was and remained to be disorderly and not rooted, sinning, worshiping various idols, cruel but suffering from their sins, and it was never able to enjoy sins, many-grabbing and power. All the time Russia searched for something and couldn't calm down, intuitively feeling untruth of the world that 'lieth in wickedness'.

I mean that there are people-monks and countries-monks. As a poet said:

An invisible world of his heart is higher than thrones and purple mantles.
It won't betray and deceive.
All things that lure and attract others: wealth, power, glory and honor,
They all abound in that world...

Yes, I mean that 'barbaric' country where everybody steals' and where 'there is no order'. The qualification standard is raised too high, and 'unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required'. And for this reason the nation flies into a rage when it goes astray, not answering its predestination.

'Will you awake, being full of strengths?
Or obeying the law of destinies,
Have you accomplished all you could:
Have you created a song like a groan
And spiritually died forever?

'Let more powerful storm burst out! The Russian revolution was only outwardly and partly 'socialist'. It was spiritual, though outwardly it was 'godless' and even 'struggling against God'. A widespread point of view declares it to be 'a riot against God's order; and for this reason Ivan Karamasov is mentioned with his 'tear of a baby' and so on."

You, Negative, well know who is the host of the earth and who 'runs the show'. But God's order is what we ask in the prayer 'Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven', i.e. 'come down to us, o Lord, and deliver us from evil, i.e. deliver us from those things, by which Radishchev, Pushkin, Lermontov, Gogol, Tolstoy and Dostoyevsky were terrified in Russia, not to speak of common people in whose hearts conscience still lived, i.e. God.

Thus says the Lord, 'Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?'

There were Idle, dissolute and unworthy way of life of some people, darkness and slavish work of others. It was impossible to perform the Plan and one's own destination. The abolishment of serfdom was a wonderful thing! But all those nobles, merchants, lukewarm clerics and other beautiful people immediately turned into 'opium for fat cats', to paraphrase Marx."

"I can't understand. Explain it."

"You understand everything perfectly, son of darkness. You persuaded the rich to have pity on the poor! But you must have pity on the rich who feast like the rich man from the Gospel while hereabout their brothers suffer like the beggar Lazarus. Only for this thing as you can remember the rich man was precipitated into the hell though he certainly was not a killer. But he was a real killer. He killed not Lazarus as you have thought but first of all he killed himself, daring to violate the Plan. But clergy reassured such sheep.

An order causing temptations, envies, enmities, lusts, discords and riots can't be pleased to God. Neither predators, nor fornicators enter the Kingdom; don't you feel sorry for them? Especially I feel sorry for 'willy-nilly vampires' and captives of their own social status and unjust order one couldn't get rid of like Leo Tolstoy.

In such a state everybody are captives of each other and your host devil. Such a state is Vampitia in spite of its pharisaic robes; it is divided into 'we' and 'they'. It is evil and dirty where being clothed with authority is the most horrible thing.

'Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them' (Isaiah 1:23).

Those who misuse God's name for low, selfish and earthly purposes and for supporting Vampiria take the most responsibility for appearing atheists who refuse God because of evil ascribed to him.

"God is betrayed be keeping silence'. Universal conscience of the best representatives of Russian society began to irreconcilably contradict with silent clergy's disregard for destinies and sufferings of common people and vital moral and spiritual problems of the country. The cited above prophesy has fulfilled already:

'This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over you: He will take your sons, and appoint them for himself, for his chariots, and to be his horsemen; and some shall run before his chariots. And he will take your daughters to be confectionaries, and to be cooks, and to be bakers. And he will take your fields, and your vineyards, and your oliveyards, even the best of them, and give them to his servants. He will take the tenth of your sheep: and ye shall be his servants. And ye shall cry out in that day because of your king which ye shall have chosen you; and the LORD will not hear you in that day' (1 Samuel 8:11, 13, 14, 17, 18).

"You are repeating yourself, Positive."

"Sorry, but this is a very urgent warning for the current situation in Russia and in general for monarchists of all sorts under the slogan 'King-Keeper'. Monarch keeps when he is a shepherd but not a wolf.

By the way, in his time Stalin didn't approve of a line in the Anthem of the USSR ', Stalin has reared us, being chosen by people. Perhaps, he remembered the following words, 'And ye shall cry out in that day because of your king which ye shall have CHOSEN you'.

And he wrote by his hand, 'Be true to the people, thus Stalin has reared us, inspired us to labor and Valorus Deed...'

'We' are a people. Joseph reared and brought up his people to be true to the people, i.e. to serve each other and the Whole according to the Plan - such is the meaning of the text approved by Joseph.

The people didn't choose Joseph. Joseph believed that he was assigned from above.

Denis was sitting on a leather sofa in the cloud of fragrant smoke, crossing one leg over another. He was 23 year old. His parents were in a long-term foreign assignment; they came on leave for a month or other. Before he grew up they took him with them. Now he lived under the care of his grandmother in a vast flat, which is full of peculiar things from the whole world and looking like a museum. His parents sent them parcels and congratulations on celebrations written on beautiful foreign postcards. Denis finished studying in a producing faculty of the Cinematography Institute.

But Joanna would know it later.
